James D. West MA

is an Art Psychotherapist

who is HCPC and BAAT Registered.

I’m James D. West, an HCPC and BAAT registered Art Psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience working in private practice, the NHS, and community settings. My work is rooted in the belief that creativity can be a powerful tool for healing, self-understanding, and growth.

Art therapy is open to everyone, regardless of artistic skill. Through drawing, painting or three-dimensional work, you can explore feelings, gain insight, and work through challenges in a safe and supportive space. I offer individual and group therapy, supervision, training, workshops, and staff support.

Alongside my practice, I write and publish widely in the field of art psychotherapy, and I share reflections and resources on my blog. My practice is based in Blackheath, Greenwich, South East London, and I welcome you to get in touch if you’d like to explore whether art therapy could be a way forward for you.
